Tonight I had a great night out at this month’s Networking Night for Tourism Noosa members, which was hosted by The Green Room at the newly renovated Imperial Lionheart Hotel and Eumundi Markets.
I love these nights, as they are full of people who have come from all walks of life who have landed in Paradise, fallen in love with it, and now are parts of all forms of businesses that are trying to promote this amazing area. They are passionate and vibrant and full of ideas and enthusiasm.
For those who read this who have never been to Australia or to Queensland, this is one of the most beautiful places on earth and believe me I have seen most of them.
It offers something for everyone from the amazing beaches to the rainforests and waterfalls of the hinterland in Montville and Maleny. I plan to set up a specific part of my site dedicated to telling you where to shop, stay, eat, drink and have incredible outdoor adventures.
You see I see the area through the eyes of both a tourist and a local. It has gone from somewhere I used to come at least twice a year on holidays for nearly 30 years, to now, somewhere I live and want to promote to the rest of the world. I have been all over Europe, to everywhere in the world where there is a beach, sailed the Caribbean and Mediterranean, Hawaii and South America. While they were all fabulous, each time I sit at a beach side restaurant in Hasting street or visit the Hinterland and have a coffee in Maleny or Montville overlooking the entire coastline, or visit the artistic Eumundi Markets, I have to think, where else in the world is there such a concentration of nature’s gifts and interesting things to do that cater for everyone.
Tonight we had music, body artists doing face painting and painted tattoos, a magician and even a visit from LAYNE Beachley, and INXS star Kirk Pengilly, who are visiting doing a documentary on the Noosa Surf Festival.
We have Jazz Festivals, Food and Wine Festivals, Surf Festivals, Triathlons and just about every kind of restaurant and outdoor activity you can think of.
You can go on a trek to waterfalls in the hinterland, learn to paddle board or surf, hire a boat on the Noosa River and explore or go fishing, hire a kayak and go into the Everglades, jump on a Ferry that takes you down the River where you can jump off and explore restaurants and shopping for breakfast, lunch and dinner including watching the incredible sunset. You don’t even have to go out in the ocean to go Whale watching. Where I live you can simply sit on the beach and watch the whales playing in August and September.
You can relax in a fabulous resort where your major decisions for the day are where to eat, beach or pool, red, white or bubble or maybe even something healthy, where to go for a fabulous spa treatment or which area you should go shopping that day.
